New features

Edition mode simpler and more powerful

When you edit something in your larp, for instance a PC, you no longer need to open an edition page where all the fields are displayed.

In the new version you click on the data you want to change (the name, a relationship, etc.) and only this data becomes editable.

There is no longer a full page reload when you change something.

Adding any field

In the old Larpwriter version, there was a unique field "Description" in which the organizers had to put all the information for each PC, NPC or group.

In the new version one can add all the fields one wants.

It makes the visualization, edition and ordering of data easier.

It is also possible to define the type of a field: short text or long text or date.

Documents are replaced by "elements"

Instead of the concept of documents, the new version pre defines various "types" of elements: documents, skills, plots, places, propos, events.

Thus the categorization of one's larp elements is easier.

In addition to the pre defined element types, one can create new ones to fit the specific needs of one's larp.

Each type of element has its own template (see "Template" below) and its own tab.

Inclusion of elements directly in the PCs, NPCs and groups

Let say you have created a skill "charm". In the page of "charm" you describe how the players can use this skill in game.

You can then include this skill in each PC or NPC that needs it. The skill name and fields will be automatically inserted within the PC or NPC sheet.

This way the players won't have to read the skill description in a separate rule book to know how it works.

If you edit the description in the page of "charm", the sheets of those PCs and NPCs will be automatically updated.

You can also see in the "charm" page all the PCs and NPCs having this skill.

You can do that for any kind of information. You can for example create a new element type "Religion", create as many "Religion" elements as you have in your larp world, describe each of them and then include them easily in the PCs, NPCs, groups which need to know about some religions so that their description is automatically included in the character sheets. The players no longer need to refer to a background manual to know about their character religion, they have the information directly in the character sheet.

Templates

The PCs, NPCs, groups, elements, players, NPC players and organizers are created with default fields.

For instance the PCs are created with the fields "Age", "Profession", "Personality", "Background", "Objectives". The players with the fields "Phone number", "Postal Address", "Birth Date".

You can change each of those default templates: add/remove fields and reorder the fields in order to adapt the templates to the needs of your larp.

Improvements for the relationships management

When you add a new relationship, you no longer have to create before the "target" of the relationship. It can be created on the fly while creating the relationships. Same when you add a new member to a group.

You can also now create relationships between PCs (or NPCs) and groups.

Control over the display order of the fields

You can now order as you want the relationships and other fields for each PC, NPC, group or element.

Better view of what will be accessible to the players and what is only accessible to the organizers

In the page of a PC, NPC, group or element you can now see clearly what is accessible only to the organizers, and what is will be visible to the players.

Each field can be set to be visible only to organizers or visible to both organizers and players.

For instance now one can create relationships that are visible only to organizers.

Relationships graph

You can now see a graph of all the relationships of your larp.

See a demo here.

Better changes tracking

You can now see exactly what was changed each time an organizer creates or updates something. For instance if the description of a character was updated, you can see the exact differences before and after the change.

You can also see the list of changes for each PC, NPC, group, element, player, etc.

Better file management

File upload is much faster.

You can join a file directly to a PC, NPC, group, etc. without having to create a document first.

You can also join a file to a player, NPC player, organizer.

You can include images directly within the texts you write.

Improved registration module

You can now add any number of input fields in your larp registration form, and for each define its type (short text or long text or date).

You can also now add instruction texts anywhere in the registration form, you are no longer limited to a few places.

Finally the conversion from an registration to player and PC (or NPC player and NPC) is more flexible: it gives you control to where each registration field is transfered.
